Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju, who was reported missing on Sunday, 22nd March 2026, has resurfaced.
Addressing the press at his Karen home Tuju claims that he abandoned his vehicle after he realised that unmarked vehicles were following him.
“ I was the one driving, when I reached the Karen roundabout they closed in. I branched into Nandi road where I lost them, I went to some roads in Karen where I abandoned the car.”
The former cabinet secretary has revealed that he sought shelter in the home of an unnamed family until yesterday night when he returned to his home.
A distraught Tuju has expressed fears for his life saying he has no hope that the police can protect him.
“There are Kenyans in unmarked graves, Cyrus Jirongo died, (Albert) Ojwang was killed and Kenyans are being slaughtered like chicken and we have absolutely no protection.”
“There is the case of Gaitho who was abducted at Karen police station I have had to think what do I do next.” Tuju has added.
Tuju’s driver Steve Mwanga, who had been reported missing alongside the seasoned politician has also resurfaced.
The driver has said he is traumatized and shocked from the near abduction ordeal.
Political leaders led by Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka who appeared in solidarity with the former CS have vowed to ensure justice is served.
