The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has arrested three more suspects linked to the attack on The All Saints Cathedral Church in Nairobi.

The DCI through a statement has confirmed that the three were nabbed after forensic and intelligence leads linked them to the invasion of the church.

The church was invaded by goons allegedly sent by a pro- government MP who attempted to disrupt a meeting to discuss the budget convened by Religious and Civil society groups.

“Detectives trailed and arrested George Omondi Otieno, Effenburg Wanyama Khisa, and Melvin Alumasa Bwani at various locations within Nairobi.” DCI has said.

The goons later robbed pedestrians along the busy Kenyatta avenue on their way out of the church.

Authorities recovered a red Boxer motorcycle believed to have been used in the heinous attack.

“Additionally, mobile phones recovered from the suspects were also seized and secured for forensic examination to assist in the ongoing investigations.” DCI has added.

The All Saints Church through its Provost; The Very Reverend Evans Omollo has decried politics interference in the case.

Omollo yesterday alleged that a suspect nabbed from the scene had been set free while those whose phones had been stolen by the goons had been paid to hush them.

“I am ready to write a statement at Muthaiga Police Station. The goon arrested at the scene was set free. The powerful people who sent them say they want this case killed. ” The man of God lamented.

The DCI has however said it is currently processing all suspects in readiness for arraignment.

The sleuths have called for the respect of the sanctity of places of worship.

“Places of worship are sanctuaries of peace and reflection, and any individual who seeks to violate their sanctity, threaten public safety or disrupt lawful gatherings will face the full force of the law.” The DCI has said.

The attack has been condemned by several leaders with Safina Party Leader Jimmy Wanjigi terminal it as a “sign of the collapse of President William Ruto’s regime.”
