The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has condemned the disruption of a budget sensitization exercise at the All Saints Cathedral here in Nairobi.

The Bishop Kepha Omae led commission has said the invasion of the church by goons points to a worrying trend of increasing use of violence and intimidation in Kenyan politics.

“The Commission strongly condemns the attack at All Saints Cathedral on 12th June 2026,” NCIC said.

“Places of worship and public institutions must remain spaces for peaceful engagement and the free exchange of ideas.” The commission has added.

NCIC has warned that use of goons risks eroding democratic values and weakening public confidence in institutions.

The commission further appealed to religious leaders and civil society organizations to play an active role in promoting dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence across political, ethnic, and religious lines.

“Kenya’s youth are a vital force for peace and nation-building. They should not be exploited for violence or criminal activities,” the statement read.

The tens of goons who invaded the Church were later captured on videos shared online robbing pedestrians along Kenyatta Avenue moments after causing mayhem at All Saints.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has confirmed that authorities are analyzing CCTV footage to identify and arrest the suspects.

Murkomen who was speaking during the Golden Jubilee Celebration at the AIC Plainsview Church said those culpable will be face the full force of the law.
