Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, the daughter of Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has been ordained as a bishop.
The consecration of Bishop Rwabwogo has been held at the Covenant Nations Church presided over by American evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna Osborn.
The President narrated the long spiritual history of his family that began in 1800’s traversing different religions and denominations including Anglican and Catholic.
He has has however noted that his daughter has hit the sealing expressing eletion of her becoming a ‘whole Bishop.’
“Today, Maama and I were very happy to witness the consecration of our daughter, Patience , as a Bishop of Covenant Nations Churches in Uganda after 20 years of ministry. ” The Ugandan Head of State has said.
The consecration event has been star-laden with attendees list including President Museveni and his wife Janet Museveni,
Nigerian cleric Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye (global leaders of the Redeemed Christian Church of God)
Rwabwogo is the founder and lead pastor of Covenant Nations Church.
The daughter of the Ugandan strongman – whose reign has been characterised with dictatorial tendencies – has been open about her faith.
In her book Jesus Africa Bishop Rwabwogo shares about seeing visions.
“Every night for about a year I could see the same thing; an image of the continent of Africa. In this vision, Africa was dark, and I would hear a voice that would say; out of what was called darkness will come a great light. And then I saw someone blowing a great trumpet – then light started coming out of Uganda.
Bishop Rwabwogo’s ministry started as a small fellowship in the mid-2000s and later expanded to several parishes, with its main base at City of David in Luzira.
“Twenty years ago, God planted in her heart a vision that began humbly as a small house fellowship.What appeared small in the eyes of men carried within it the seed of a greater work.” Allen Kagina, the leader of the elders of the Covenant Nations Church has said.
The elders have said noted that under the leadership of Bishop Rwabwogo, the Covenant Nations Church has become a sanctuary for many souls.
