Nominated Senator Veronica Maina has called on Kenyan women to emulate the example of prayerfulness set by the First lady Rachel Ruto.
Senator Maina has hailed Rachel as a prayer warrior who denies herself the largess of state power and humbles in prayer.
“Inspite of living in the palace this is a woman of God who takes time to pray and fast.” The senator said in reference to the First lady.
“Some of us are not living in the palace but we never take time to pray and fast; good people what are we doing?” She added.
Senator Maina who was speaking during the 2026 National Prayer Breakfast Women Convocation, has called on Kenyans to take time and intercede for Kenya just like Rachel does.
Maina has described Mama Rachel as a mentor and a mother figure for the nation.
“Her excellency who lives in the palace refuses to eat what is on the kings table to pray for Kenya what more can we do?” Maina has said.
The senator has recollected the Tuombeni Kenya Initiative that was spearheaded by the first lady, where she traversed the country summoning Kenyans to prayer.
The Women convocation is a pre-cursor to the 23rd National Prayer Breakfast that is set to be held tomorrow.
The annual prayer breakfast that is expected to graced by Presdient William Ruto will be held at the Safari Park Hotel and is set to draw over 2,000 delegates.
