The National Police Service (NPS) has announced a nationwide recruitment exercise for police constables scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. across all designated recruitment centres.

According to the NPS, interested applicants who meet the minimum entry requirements are required to fill out and submit their application forms online through the official NPS website before presenting themselves for the physical exercise.

On the recruitment day, candidates must report to their respective centres with original copies of their academic certificates, national identity card, and birth certificate. Additionally, applicants must have no criminal record, while those who have served in the National Youth Service (NYS) are required to present their discharge certificates where applicable.

The NPS has further emphasized that female candidates should not be pregnant at the time of recruitment.

In Nairobi County, the exercise will take place at Moi Sports Centre Kasarani, Nyayo Stadium, City Stadium, Dandora Stadium, KTTC Gigiri, Mathare Depot Playground, and Pumwani Playgrounds. Other designated centres include Tena Grounds, Jakaranda Grounds, Humama Grounds, and Ndurarua Stadium.

The announcement follows a recent ruling by the Employment and Labour Relations Court, which nullified an earlier recruitment exercise and affirmed that the Inspector General (IG) of Police holds the constitutional authority to oversee matters within the National Police Service. In her judgment, Lady Justice Hellen Wasilwa cited Articles 245(1) and 245(2)(b) of the Constitution, ruling that no individual or body—including the National Police Service Commission (NPSC)—is permitted to interfere with the IG’s command functions.

“This court has issued an order prohibiting the NPSC from interfering with the recruitment of police officers as gazetted last month since such processes fall exclusively under the operational mandate of the National Police Service,” Justice Wasilwa stated.

The NPS has urged all qualified Kenyans aspiring to join the service to visit its official websites; Kenya Police, Administration Police, or the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) or to access application forms through the nearest Huduma Centre.
