The curtains have fallen on the campaigns for Ol-Kalou parliamentary by-election, 72 hours to the mini-polls set for Thursday.

Ol-Kalou’s returning officer Anthony Muhia has cautioned politicians against campaigning beyond the stipulated period.

“The campaigns officially end today we expect Ol-Kalou to go quite from today 6pm.” Muhia has said.

Muhia has said the Independent electoral and Boundaries commission IEBC has trained election officials who have already been deployed in readiness for the elections.

“We have trained our Polling officers we urge the voters to turn up in large numbers on Thursday.” Muhia has said.

The polling officers are expected to pick electoral materials on Wednesday evening at the constituency headquarters before proceeding to the polling stations to await opening the following day.

“The election officers will spend the night at the polling stations on Wednesday just as the law requires before opening the stations for voters on Thursday morning.” He has said.

The campaigns have been marred with cases of alleged widespread voter bribery and violence with the poll being poised to be the ultimate litmus test between the ruling U.D.A and D.C.P party on who controls the Mt. Kenya region politically.
