Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s DCP Party continues to attract defectors from other party’s, Kamkunji MP Yussuf Hassan being the latest leader to join the outfit.
Hassan has been welcomed to the DCP Party by its leader Rigathi Gachagua during an event at the Party’s offices in Nairobi.
“Gachagua is a nationalist who loves Kenya. And that is what makes a nation better. The journey has started until we win during the elections and create a new government.” Hassan said.
Hassan who was elected in the 2022 general elections on a Jubilee Party ticket is the longest serving MP in Nairobi amongst the current crop of MPs.
He was first elected in 2011 and has served consecutively ever since.
Also present during the welcoming of the MP was Kamande Mwafrika (Roysambu) and Benjamin Gathiru (Embakasi Central) who have since defected from the UDA Party to DCP.
Prominent Leaders who have defected from their parties to DCP include Muranga Governor Irungu Kangata, Nyandarua’s Kiarie Badilisha, EALA MP Kanini Kega amongst others.
