Rigathi Gachagua has alleged a plan to interfere with the 2027 general elections accusing the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of being party to the ploy.
Without providing proof, Gachagua has accused IEBC Vice Chairperson Fahima Araphat of fronting a company Miru System Company to supply electoral material that according to him will enable rigging of the polls in favour of the government.
He has further linked Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho to the ploy.
“The Vice Chair was an official of ODM and is very close to Joho. Her and the chairman and Joho have come up with a company from South Korea. Every country that has used that company for its elections has had issues.” Gachagua has claimed.
The former second-in-command has promised to release a list of the said nations in the coming days.
“They made specifications for this tender tailor made for this company.” He has added.
Gachagua has called on the young people to enlist as voters saying despite the vote rigging plot the youth have the numbers to send President William Ruto home.
The DCP Party leader, reacting to sentiments by President Ruto who said he cannot work with him, Gachagua has said that he himself is not ready to enter into any form of agreement with the President adding that Ruto is on his way out.
“Singing Wantam is the best, it is very sweet. We like it, but it is not enough. You must go another step and register as voters and turn out to vote.” He has urged the youth.
Gachagua has also released report of his consultations with different groups promising to ensure the recommendations are implemented if elected President in 2027.
According to Gachagua groups consultation have raised concerns over the governance of the country with key issues such as goonism, challenges with the Social Health Authority and uncertainty in the education centre being raised.
The Clergy that he met during his 55 day sojourn at Wamunyoro further raised concerns over the invasion of churches.
He has promised to ensure the government respects the sanctity of the church if his DCP Party sails yo power in 2027.
