The pilgrimage to Wamunyoro continues with Safina Party Leader Jimmy Wanjigi visiting the rural residence of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for a second time within a span of one month.

In a social media post Gachagua said he met Wanjigi, a businessman and politician, for further consultations on what he described as the country’s “liberation” journey.

“I had the benefit of a further enriching and informative consultation with businessman and political strategist Jimi Wanjigi at the Wamunyoro residence today,” Gachagua said.

Wanjigi made a similar visit to Wamunyoro on 1st July 2026 for discussions that Gachagua said centered on the country’s political future, constitutionalism, and the formation of a new administration.

The timing of the meeting is what is however sparking interest given the current realignments in Kenya’s political scene ahead of the 2027 general election with possibility of an alliance.

“The journey for the liberation of our country is a tough one and every opinion and advice is crucial. But we shall get there. It is a matter of when, not if.” Gachagua has said.

“Consultations continue. God Bless Kenya.” He has added.

The two leaders who are both opposed to President William Ruto are the only leaders from Central Kenya who have declared their intention to vie for the Presidency in the upcoming elections.
