Government Spokesperson Dr. Isaac Mwaura has called on the Mt. Kenya region not to abandon President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza government stating that the region has an assured place in the current administration.

Mwaura has stated that the Mt. Kenya region played a pivotal role in ensuring President William Ruto’s ascendancy to the presidency and it need not walk out on him to seek other paths to power.

“This is our government, we fought for it. How can we leave it and go and look for another government.” Mwaura has stated.

“We are the ones with a majority of Cabinet secretaries and Principal Secretaries. If they is something that has gone wrong let us talk.” He has added.

The plea by Issac Mwaura follows the resounding defeat of the UDA Party in the just concluded Ol- Kalou by election despite heavy government investment in the campaigns.

The defeat has resulted to anti-government sentiments with political analysts arguing that it is the clearest sign yet the Mountain has deserted Ruto whom it voted to the man in the 2022 general elections.

The spokesperson has emphasized that President Ruto has prioritized equity and inclusion of all regions in development.

“President Ruto has ensured development and the mt. Kenya region has benefited from the same.” He has said.

Mwaura; in a veiled attack against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused the DCP Party boss of propagating disrminatory and tribal politics.
