Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has dismissed claims that the goons who attacked him in Kisumu had fled the country.
Speaking at the Senate Committee on National Security, Osotsi said that he had information on the whereabouts of the assailants who are still at large within the country.
The senator’s assertions contradicts statements by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen who claimed that the goons had fled to a neighboring country.
“The cabinet Secretary has been making inconsistent statements on my matter. The other day he claimed that these assailants had run out of the country. The information I have and which is being provided by the people of Kisumu is that some of these assailants are in Kisumu and others have been transported to Nakuru,”said Osotsi.
The Senator also pointed out the height of injustice regarding his case, indicating laxity on the side of the criminal justice system.
“If you want to know the level of impunity over this matter, some of these assailants were in court when the three colleagues were brought there, they were among the audience and they were not arrested despite the police in Kisumu being aware of that,” he affirmed.
He further demanded that his matter will only arrive at a conclusion if justice prevails, calling for the arraignment of the Interior docket’s principals at the committee.
“I would like the Cabinet Secretary and the Principal Secretary to come here so that I can face them head-on. We cannot proceed with this matter when the principal suspect has not recorded a statement, and the suspect is the PS for Interior, Dr. Raymond Omollo,” Osotsi demanded.
