Adonai Insurance Agencies that is owned by the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) has marked its 11th year anniversary with its management calling on believers to take insurance covers.

Speaking during the agency’s anniversary dinner at the Safari Park Hotel, Joshua Afune has said insurance will ensure believers get back on their feet in case of unforeseen calamities like fire, flood and accidents.

The agency that was established by the Anglican Church’s Nairobi Diocese says it is not merely in pursuit of Profits but advancement of believers.

“We want to protect the lives, livelihoods and properties of our members.” Afune said.

Members of the clergy who attended the dinner challenged the church to establish dominance in the Market place emphasizing that it is among the key areas of ministry.

Rt. Rev Bishop David Kodia of the Diocese of Bondo has called on the church to engage in business and leave a Godly footpath that can be emulated by persons in the marketplace.

“The church of the 21st century is on the move, and it needs to move to the marketplace.” Bishop Kodia said.

“Today’s church is set in the Marketplace. You cannot go to the Market place unless you have an intention to buy and sell.” He has added.

Former Anglican Bishop of Nairobi Joel Waweru has called on the agency that is backed by Britam Insurance as its main underwriter to come up with innovative products to address challenges facing the society.

“Bereavement sets back our members financially; you should consider coming up with a cover that will help shoulder the burden of burials,” he said.

The agency is targeting a total revenue of Ksh. 300 million and Profit before tax of Ksh. 30 million.

The agency helps members get different covers including Motor Vehicle, Medical, All Risks, Fire & special Peril, Burglary/Theft, WIBA and Public Liability
